Plot Summary:
In chapter Eighteen- we begin with Aureliano (II) body in an old lab. With his body is ghost of himself who gives clues and helps him to the prophecy. This is where we learn where the name of the book comes from. They are one hundred years old. The Buendías now are poor, and are supported by Aureliano Segundo and his fling girl. AS the chapter continues,
months later Fernanda’s death, her son José Arcadio (II) returns back to the village. He has become very secluded from others. The reason for this is he is beginning the seminaries that he has been studying. He picks this way of life rather then his wealth from his family that would be eventually passed down to him. He finds money in the old house, and gives it around to young children that need it. Then the friends receive a visit from a son of the Colonel. The man tells him that his other sixteen other brothers have been shot . As the friendship is developing, out of no where, it is completely cut for gold. So the gold gets stolen.
